BMW is famous for being a stickler to its long tradition of quality, class, technological innovations and performance. In 2009, the company introduced new features to the BMW E60 M5 that befits its name. As a four-door sedan that can seat five passengers comfortably and still handles like a sports car, it belongs in a class of its own.

The M Drive now has a choice of different engine power levels, throttle response and stability control. It also allows the driver to select a damper setting tied to its electronic steering assistance.
To keep the beast’s power in control with BMW’s largest drilled and ventilated rotors, the braking system is upgraded. The beast is carried by the 19-inch alloy wheels with 255mm front tires and 285 mm rear tires. Extra features to ensure the safety of its passengers are also introduced. An 80GB hard drive is also made available for the car owner’s CD, MP3 player or USB stick, together with the car’s navigation data. For music lovers, the Logic 7 surround system is a welcome innovation. It has 13 upgraded speakers and two subwoofers. Together with the optional navigation system, the iDrive now offers an 8.8-inch control display with higher screen resolution. The new iDrive has further become the basis for optional unrestricted Internet access. A snap-in adapter for full integration of smart phones such as Apple’s iPhone is also introduced as a new accessory together with an optional compatible USB board.
The car is then installed with a set of xenon adaptive headlights that have an auto-leveling feature. All four of these headlights have individual illuminating rings. The heated side-view mirrors are equipped with electro-chromic auto-dimming and a power fold-up feature. This system also has an automatic tilt-down of the passenger’s side-view mirror when the car is in reverse.
The 2009 E60 M5 is still powered by BMW’s performance tested 500HP, 5.0 liter V10 engine with 383 pound-feet of torque. The car is favored because of its subdued exterior look and a beautifully tailored interior with matte-finish materials. Some car experts assert that this understated style gives the car the look and feel that simply says luxury and class.
